QUALITY BACKGROUND PIANO MUSIC 

 

    I play a range of varied piano music  . . . . of special note where I have played:

 

•  Reception/meal for the Opening of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and for the receptions for The various international  Orchestral Series of Concerts that followed as a feature of the launch

 

•  What was described as the 'Wedding of the Year' at Gleneagles hotel 

 

I am a highly experienced, classically trained musician who has and does play with some of the UK's best bands in the rock, pop, blues, country, classical, folk, ethnic and jazz fields of music

 

Most recently I played piano: 

 

• In European tour for Paul Buchanan of the Blue Nile to promote Paul's recent album 'Mid Air' (largely for voice and piano) and included some favourite Blue Nile songs;

 

• With Mary K Burke's Band at Loch Lomond Folk Festival

 

• For the launch of 'Jethro' -  a Congolese/Jazz Fusion CD 

 

 My interest and love for music is very diverse but I believe I can bring this varied background to the service of discreet quality background piano music

 

The choice of music, comes from years of experience in knowing what is suited to the occasion: jazz standards such as Sinatra/Nat King Cole , Elton John , Billy Joel, Ballads such as 'She', the odd Classical piece (for example Erik Satie's 'Gymnopedies') and more recent pop material where this adapts well for the piano (e.g.  Alicia Keys 'If I Aint Got You' ,  Rhianna 'Unfaithful',  and (surprisingly to me) David Guetto "Titanium" 

The mix can of course have a slant in accordance with the wishes of the client/organiser

 

Punctuality, appropriate dress, quality equipment (including a top of the range digital piano where the venue does not have a suitable piano) good attitude and awareness of the demands of the occasion are a high priority, including appropriate sound level which you are strongly encouraged to comment suits you as the evening unfolds . . . .  It is your evening and I am happy to ensure that I'll do everything I can to make it that bit more special for you and your guests
